In 2006 there were a total of 83,745 new cases (first attack) of genital warts in the UK.1 The incidence was slightly higher in men, possibly because of cases acquired through homosexual sex.1
For both men and women the highest incidence is in the 20-24 age group, followed by the 25-34 year olds.1
